Hi. I'm Deborah. 

My book, DROP IN — the first book to tell the story of the women, LGBTQIA+ and non-binary athletes who defied expectations of gender and talent and blazed a path to today's more equitable skate culture — came out June 2024.

The one before that, UNVARNISHED — “Kitchen Confidential for the cocktail profession” — came out June 2020.

My band, Hot As Sun, has opened for Phantogram, Foster the People and Gotye, been featured on TV shows like American Idol, Glee, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars, and in films like Slanted, Space Cadet and For a Good Time, Call.

My scripts have been recognized by Sundance, Slamdance and The Hollywood Screenplay Contest.

I’ve written for The Economist, New York Times, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, LA Weekly, SF Chronicle, Portland Mercury, White Hot Magazine, Ignite and Buzz Bands.
