Hi. I'm Deborah.
I am a journalist: The Economist's 1843, the LA Times, the LA Weekly, Punch Drink, Buzzbands & the Young Presidents Organization.
A short story writer: Slake, Swivel, Fresh Yarn.
I was a finalist in the Sundance screenwriting competition for my feature script, “What Makes Her Tic.” A finalist in the Sundance New Frontiers competition for my multi-platform project, “Glass Half Full.” A finalist in the Slamdance screenwriting competition for my hour-long dramatic TV script, “The Foundry” and a Hollywood Screenplay Contest winner for my half-hour animated TV script, “Exene vs. the Zombies”.
My former band’s music has been heard on shows like American Idol, Glee, CSI Miami, The Vampire Diaries and MTV as well as in the movie, For A Good Time, Call.
In the summer of 2015 I attended Breadloaf.
In the summer of 2016 I attended The Iowa Writers Workshop.
In the summer of 2017 I attended Tin House.
I'm working on my first novel and first non-fiction book and am pretty excited about them both. Most of the time.
